The car graveyard – Kyrkö mosse

A museum located in the woods. The ground is covered with moss. Walls of majestic trees that rise up in the sky. A roof of sunlight glittering in the treetops. Everything smells of past times and nostalgia.

The car graveyard Kyrkö Mosse has been used as junkyard since the 1930's. Round, chunky shapes and other details are reminders of past times. The wrecked cars are slowly broken down and what remains is often only the carbody as thin as paper.

Nature is taking back what once was taken from her, however in a slow gentle process. Due to uncertainties in how to handle this unique place, Kyrkö Mosse was taken from Smålands forests to the higher court in Stockholm and in form of an art exhibition it could be seen in the beautiful artpalaces of Rome.

Kyrkö Mosse leaves no one untouched, no matter what you think
