The Utnäsudden archipelago nature reserve is currently the largest in the county and consists of a 1500 hectare area of water and the peninsula Utnäsudden along with a number of islands. The area is protected mainly for the sake of the forest and birds.

Nature reserve Utnäsuddens övärld

The Utnäsudden archipelago nature reserve is currently the largest in the county and consists of a 1500 hectare area of water and the peninsula Utnäsudden along with a number of islands. The area is protected mainly for the sake of the forest and birds.

The land area and the islands in the reserve consist mainly of deciduous forests with species like oak and elm, but you will also find some spruce trees, marches, wetlands and a beautiful archipelago. It is difficult to visit the area because nearby roads are private and not available to the public. There is no admittance between 1 April and 31 July, Harö between 1 Februry and 15 August.
